Did you know that Gedling Borough Council are considering selling part of Onchan Park, otherwise known as Oakdale Road Recreation Ground, for building houses? The children’s playground, tennis court, 5 a side football pitch, bowling green and the flora and fauna provide opportunities for all ages to be active and enjoy the surroundings. Many of us would like to keep the entire park for leisure and recreational use for our community, now and for future generations.

Onchan Park is the only open space recreational facility in our catchment.  The nearest park facility for older children and teenagers is at least 20 minutes’ walk away. This walk includes crossing main roads with some of the highest numbers of traffic accident casualties in the borough. Map.​
