The state of South Carolina currently denies in-state tuition to immigrant students with certain visas and with DACA status even if they have lived in the state for years and graduate from high schools in the state. Undocumented students are banned from studying at state colleges and universities altogether. There is current legislation in the state legislator that would give in-state tuition to all South Carolina high school graduates and stop the current discrimination. As the largest district in the state, we feel that it is important that Greenville County schools publicly supports this measure as it affects so many of its current and former students.
