Destroying NW Gaston County just outside Charlotte, NC with a proposed 2,500+ acre lithium hard rock 500' deep open pit mine and processing plant is not "green." We have clean air, pure water, abundant wildlife, and produce farm products for those that live in the cities, don't let the greenwash wave take this away from us. We need your help to let the public know that mining lithium for batteries is highly destructive to our land, threatens our existing natural resources, destroys our protected wildlife, and endangers the health of our generational citizens in this populous rural area. We are farmers that are for the United States who are not against growth or development around us, but this is simply not a good idea when better newer technologies exist to extract lithium to exceed all our country's future needs.
We are told by this company, from reports that they have kindly commissioned, we should not be worried that our only source of water from our shallow clean drinking wells will not go dry and will not become polluted. We are told that they will not pollute our clean air with dust from their blasting and crushing operations, we are told that our creeks, springs, and ponds will not go dry when they lower the water table, and we are told it is perfectly safe to live next to a mine and chemical conversion plant. We simply don't think so.
Help us in our efforts to raise awareness and dollars to let others know there is a real impact to US citizens for this type of destructive environmentally risky hard rock mining in an effort to be "green." We are "green" today so we don't want to see it destroyed as we and our citizens are effectively being asked to be a "sacrifice community" so others can believe that they are "green."
Your generous financial gifts will help us get our message out and stop the hypocritical talk of "green" while destroying the environment they seek to protect. Please donate to our cause and share with your family and friends across the globe at:
