On September 5, 2018 Coach Rodney Fisher, Girls Basketball Coach at West Side Leadership Academy in Gary, IN was fired by an email message. He was not given a justification nor was he given an advance notice that his coaching position would not be renewed for the 2018-2019 school year. Parents, students, alumni, and citizens are petitioning to have Coach Fisher’s coaching position reinstated for the 2018-2019 school year. Please assist us in obtaining signatures in support of this cause.

Petition summary and background - The firing of Coach Rodney Fisher by email after 35 years of commitment and dedication is unfair, unjustified, biased, and morally wrong. Coach Fisher is still considered to be a vibrant, knowledgeable, and successful winning coach, mentor, and male role model to hundreds of students on and off the court.

Action petitioned for - We, the undersigned, are concerned parents, students, alumni, and citizens who urge our leaders to act now to reinstate Coach Rodney Fisher as the Head Girls’ Basketball Coach for West Side Leadership Academy.
