Petition updateGannon, Davis and County Council - Keep Our Library Public!Erie County cannot afford to sacrifice any part of the Blasco Public Library

Erie County Council on Tuesday elected new leadership and welcomed new members as part of its 2024 reorganization.

Your continued support is needed to keep the focus on rescinding the Gannon lease for space in the Blasco Public Library!

The voices of Erie residents and Gannon Alumni are critical to change the disturbing trend of attacking our public libraries and leaving the public out of decisions. The issue goes beyond Gannon's agreement with Erie County to move into public space at Blasco Library. We believe the very future of our public library system is at risk.

We ask that you speak up, support your public library and visit: change.org/wronglocation for more information. Call and write letters to advocate for Gannon trustees and county council to keep our library 100% public.

By signing our petition, you ARE NOT SAYING YOU oppose Gannon’s Project NePTWNE, which includes the Great Lakes Research & Education Center. YOU ARE SAYING: KEEP OUR LIBRARY PUBLIC! Project NePTWNE has merit but it does not belong in our public library.

Copeland pledges stability, transparency, protection of public assets like Blasco Library
New Erie County Councilman Rock Copeland says county government should seek to protect Blasco Library and advance Gannon's water research center at another site. He calls for compromise.
