Thank you for the support! I never thought this would take off like this.
Please keep sharing and signing. Feel free to repost anywhere and everywhere. tinyurl.com/kjqng2g #GWPetition
Additionally, I don't know if this emails everyone when I update (something I DO NOT WANT TO HAPPEN, NO SPAM), so until I find out I promise not to do another update unless.
1- The petition reaches 10,000 signatures (unlikely)
2- I am contacted by Games Workshop (unlikely)
3- Something so major and so unexpected I could not foresee it here happens and I have to say something (unlikely)
So sign knowing your inbox won't be clogged (except for the initial auto-thank you for signing email).
For some who doubt some of the points made here, since the letter is in a tone of discussion vice information, here are some excerpts from their 2013-2014 annual report
MARKET RESEARCH
Corporate Strategy: Business Model (pg 5)
"Our market is a niche market made up of people who want to collect our miniatures. They tend to be male, middle-class, discerning
teenagers and adults. We do no demographic research, we have no focus groups, we do not ask the market what it wants. These things are otiose in a niche." (otiose means producing no useful result, or lacking use/effect)
Directors report: Research and development (pg 14)
"The Group does not undertake research activities. Development activities relate to the development of new product lines. The charge to
the income statement for the year in respect of development activities is detailed in note 9 to the financial statements."
THE WEBSTORE
In the chairman's preamble, he mentions they spent 4 million GBP on the new webstore- "The new web store allows us to sell online more efficiently. It
cost around £4 million."
But under their strategic report is this:
"Mail order-
Our new online shop was launched this year and our online sales are broadly in line with the prior year."
A large investment for little return it seems.
