Changing places are accessible public bathrooms that include both a height adjustable changing bench and a hoist. Currently in Galway, there are no public bathrooms with such facilities.

As a result of this, people who require these facilities are being excluded from activities such as shopping, eating-out and going to cinema as they cannot safely use public bathrooms.

Changing Places Galway is an initiative that has been set up in order to raise awareness of this issue, and with the ambition of the installation of Changing Place in Galway City.
