Rep. Clovis Watson is asking for our help

HB 759 goes before its final committee Wednesday. We're fortunate that Rep. Clovis Watson is a member of this committee and he has been a strong advocate in stopping this bill. This is likely our last, best chance to beat it and save local governance for our utility. Rep. Watson has vowed to fight this bill in committee but he needs us to have his back. If you have a few minutes that you can help us beat this awful bill, we really need you to: 1) Share this petition with your contacts. We need to get at least another hundred or so signatures by Tuesday. 2) Call or email the members of the Government Accountability Committee to ask that they vote "no" on this bill in their hearing Wednesday. Contact for the committee members are below. You can send one email to all of them at the same time if you don't have time to make individual phone calls. 3) Travel to Tallahassee Wednesday morning. There are already some Gainesville folks planning to attend, and Rep. Clovis Watson really needs us to be there when he speaks out against this bill in committee.
