Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, spoken up, and stood with us in fighting for Further Education. Your voices, emails, conversations, and collective pressure have mattered. This year’s uplift in funding is a welcome step and shows what is possible when staff, students, communities, and unions refuse to stay silent.

But let’s be clear - this is not the finish line.

Further Education remains under sustained pressure after years of underfunding, short-term fixes, and uncertainty. One uplift does not undo long-term damage, nor does it guarantee stability for students, staff, courses, or communities.

With a new government and a forthcoming five-year plan expected shortly afterwards, this is a critical moment. Decisions made over the next year will shape the future of FE for a generation. We must keep the pressure on to ensure that Further Education is properly valued, fairly funded, and given long-term security, not another temporary sticking plaster.
