Amoowigamig public washroom petition: news coverage and signs of progress

Architect and activist Wins Bridgman (pictured), who designed the Amoowigamig washroom, speaks out in today's Winnipeg Free Press about the need for the washroom to be open more hours. Our petition is mentioned, and the online edition of the newspaper includes a link. This article also quotes City Councillor Sherri Rollins (srollins@winnipeg.ca) as saying that she will push for twenty-four hour a day funding. And Mayor Scott Gillingham seems to be somewhat supportive of twenty-four hour funding starting some time in 2024 (with the next city budget). In other words: awareness is growing and this petition is making a difference. Please continue to share, especially with your contacts in Winnipeg. With 24/7 support possibly on the horizon for next year, let's try to make it happen sooner!
