Help us to keep Temple Park for public use

The Issue

Temple Park is an open space in South Shields used by local residents, voluntary sports clubs and visitors for leisure & recreation.

The site was gifted to the people of South Shields by the Ecclesiastical Commissioners in 1961. It commemorates their contribution to the war at sea in World War 2.

Currently there are plans to change this and to take the space away from public & free use.

Westoe Rugby Club has plans to build a new private sports centre, which would make the park exclusive to paying members and would take away a huge open space which is currently being used for the public.

We need your support to keep this space open to all of the public, with free use of the site and to stop the loss of the parks in our town.
