Petition updateFresno Unified Needs to Make Aquatic Sports a PriorityA few updates and developments - A reminder to FUSD to prioritize our kids.

Our elected officials continue to ignore our requests for this to be added as a formal item to the FUSD board meeting agenda. Wednesday is the last board meeting before the July board meeting break. The inaction is clear, FUSD officials (all including elected) do not care about this or our kids. July will be a very busy month for our avocation.

  1. Continue to write the board requesting this be added to the agenda. Template at the bottom. When this fully explodes, it needs to be clear how difficult it was to gain the support needed for correction.
  2. Two advocates are currently working on a website. The website will display the timeline with evidence, the stories of the advocates ignored, and the ways to support getting this corrected.
  3. We have secured a sponsor to mail postcards to some of the neighborhoods in the FHS region. We will begin using different outlets to gain the support needed to correct this. It is looking like we will have to ensure Trustee Levine is unseated from his position.
  4. I received a postcard from a possible opponent to Trustee Levine. We are currently researching him before we openly support his run for the FUSD board. At first glance his candidacy is legit.
  5. A reminder - FUSD's inaction will not make this go away. It only fuels our fire. Constituent services sharing wrong information again fuels our fire. The stories of those affected, fuels our fire. THIS STILL NOT BEING CORRECTED, FUELS OUR FIRE. The longer it takes to correct, the angrier we become. My son is now a sophomore and has missed the opportunities a full program could have provided because FUSD simply does not care.

Dear Ms. Wittrup and Ms. Her,

I am writing today to request the FHS regular and offseason situation be formally added to the June 12th board meeting agenda during the open portion of the meeting. We would like to openly advocate for the needed corrective action to make the children of the FHS region the priority in this situation. Adding this to the board agenda would give constituents another chance to obtain the corrective action our children deserve.

I appreciate your consideration of this very important issue.

Thank you,
