On July 9th, we successfully kept the Fremont Homeless Navigation Center (HNC) from most Fremont residential neighborhoods, but the job is not yet complete. Our fight continues!
We still have 1 residential neighborhood to go: Decoto.
Keep Fremont Homeless Navigation Center Away from Decoto!
Attend city hall meeting tomorrow (7/16) at 7 pm to voice your concerns and opposition. Address is 3300 Capital Ave. We need everyone to show up. This is the last opportunity to speak to the city council before it goes on summer recess. Please let all your friends and neighbors know. Wear black cloths to show our unity.
Why go?
This entire HNC process has lacked transparency. City staff released the full list of sites on the afternoon of 7/3, right before the July 4th long weekend, giving Fremont residents, especially the ones in North Fremont, no time to review and respond to the proposal. This is WRONG!
Data cited by city staff is highly questionable. It is almost as if they engineered the data specifically to target the Decoto site. Have they already made their decision are they are simply creating an illusion of a process to justify their actions? This is WRONG!
Fremont residents should not be treated like this. We have the right to hold city hall accountable. Show up!
