Many of you know that our fears of this becoming a bill has become a reality.
The new Idaho legislation session begins in January. While we aren't sure how quickly they will introduce this bill, we are gathering our allies to be ready.
We must band together together to advocate for our art! There is many different organizers in different parts of Idaho fighting for this. I would like to mention some connections to those around Idaho so we can band together easier.
What can you do?

Add the Words also has a Welcome to the (yet to be named) coalition- this page is dedicated to our Idaho drag community and their allies, working collaboratively to fend off harmful and discriminatory legislation. Join and communicate with those all around Idaho, we must stand united!
Education Campaign:
Between now and January’s legislative session, we have a small window to educate the public and would be allies with the messaging we develop & events. Gather support and don't remain silent!
5. Legislative Advocacy training;
There will be an all day training in Boise, Saturday, Dec 10th, it will be hybrid and accessible via zoom. We’ll teach all the ins and outs of the legislature. We’ll have links for a resource folder as well. This can prepare us for those who will make testimonies against the bill.
Fundraisers:
Many different organizers have created fundraising events to help people get up to Boise to fight for this bill and to continue our organized fight. You can find some here:
Support the effort to keep Drag legal in Idaho:
We have a Tshirt campaign where our funds goes to getting local artists up to Boise to testify
Protect Drag in Idaho Shirts and Attire! < click here
Funds from these three campaigns will be going to a general fund to cover travel expenses (good, lodging, re-embursment for funds, ect.) for community members wanting to testify before the Idaho Legislature during the 2023 Session.
Please share this if possible! This campaign is doing double duty:
1. Raising funds for travel, wage loss, etc. of anyone wanting to go to Boise for this purpose.
2. Ensuring we all have cool shirts and sweaters that let people know we want to keep drag in Idaho!
Most importantly, share share share. Share this petition, make noise about the bill, educate on drag, and fight for your rights!
We will not go down easily! ✊️️⚧️️
