Suggested message:
“I am contacting your office regarding Isma’il Abdus-Sabur. I am asking you to vacate the charges against him and immediately reunite him with his family. His family has already lost years of birthdays, holidays, graduations, funerals, and ordinary moments together that can never be returned. Please use the authority of your office to bring this case to an end and allow Isma’il to come home.”
📲 3. SHARE THE PETITION FAR AND WIDE
Share it in Connecticut, New York, Michigan, California, and beyond.
Wrongful convictions are not a red-state issue or a blue-state issue. They are a nationwide, bipartisan justice issue.
We should not be comfortable with a Catch-22 where credible evidence is acknowledged but still cannot receive meaningful consideration because of procedural barriers.
The criminal legal system should be seeking justice and accuracy, not spending public dollars defending a conviction simply because it already exists. Each day an innocent person is incarcerated costs up to $347 tax dollars that can be used for healthcare, childcare, roads, pickleball courts, summer youth employment.
Every new person who learns Isma’il’s story expands this campaign beyond one courtroom and one state.
