It's an Election Year. Let Our Priorities Be Known!
Good Morning,
On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at 12 PM, we are scheduled to meet with Senator Gary Winfield to discuss Isma'il Abdus-Sabur's case and the proposed Wrongful Conviction Relief Act.
2026 is an election year, and we want our elected officials and candidates to know our priorities!
We do NOT support innocent people remaining incarcerated while the State relies on legal technicalities to uphold convictions.
📬 We ask our community to contact Connecticut's Judiciary Committee members by email and USPS mail to express support for adding the Wrongful Conviction Relief Act to the 2027 legislative agenda, sponsoring the proposal, and passing meaningful post-conviction reforms.
The State's responsibility is to seek justice, not simply secure convictions. When the truth comes to light, there must be a meaningful pathway to freedom. First let make the Judiciary Committee aware of our proposed bill!!!
