The Connecticut Supreme Court has scheduled oral arguments for Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
This is a significant milestone in Isma’il’s case and an opportunity for our community to demonstrate that the pursuit of justice matters.

We invite supporters, faith leaders, students, attorneys, social workers, advocates, and community members to rally before the hearing and then respectfully attend the oral arguments. Your presence reminds everyone that communities care deeply about fairness, due process, and meaningful review of legal claims.

We’re also taking the next step toward systemic reform.
We have requested a meeting with Senator Gary Winfield to review our proposed wrongful conviction legislation, receive feedback on strengthening the proposal, and discuss sponsorship for the 2027 legislative session.
While individual cases matter, we also believe Connecticut should have a stronger process for reviewing credible newly presented evidence in wrongful conviction cases.
