Last night, another virtual visit between Ismail and his family was lost because a correction officer did not know how to operate the computer or Microsoft Teams. A simple technology issue became another missed opportunity for a father to connect with the people he loves.

When we talk about men’s mental health, we must also acknowledge the barriers that separate fathers, sons, brothers, and husbands from their families. Human connection matters.

Please check on the men and boys in your life. Be a safe space. Listen without judgment. Encourage them to seek professional help when they need it.
