FreeAbdus Petition Update: Help Us Reach 600 Signatures in June
Another milestone. Another memory missed.
After more than a decade of incarceration, Ismail has missed moments that can never be replaced. He never got to hold his youngest daughter as a newborn or infant. He missed her first steps, her first words, birthdays, school events, and everyday moments that make up a childhood.
This month alone, he has missed her senior trip and field day, and will most likely miss her graduation on June 24.
No family can get those moments back.
Today, we are just a few signatures shy of 500, but our goal for June is 600 signatures. We need your help to get there.
This week, please share the petition with 3 people each day.

A simple message can introduce someone new to this campaign and help grow support for justice.
There is reason for hope. In New York, legislation addressing wrongful convictions continues to move forward. Senate bill S6319A has passed the Senate, and S6319B is making its way through the Assembly. These efforts demonstrate growing recognition that our justice system must be willing to revisit convictions when credible evidence calls them into question.
Connecticut must not be left behind.
Help us build momentum for the 2027 Connecticut legislative session and advance reforms that make it easier to challenge wrongful convictions and present evidence of actual innocence.
Sign. Share. Speak up.
Because every year lost matters.
Because every missed milestone matters.
Because justice should never depend on procedural barriers when the truth is at stake.
