"Ocklawahaman" Paul Nosca OPINION:
It's a shame but it seems that the "non-profit" groups that have collected sincere donors' generous contributions for years to get Ocklawaha River Restoration included in the Florida Legislature's budget appropriations sent to the Governor have not perceived this only-one-chance FOR-FREE-$$$ possibility that the Florida Legislature could OVERRIDE Governor DeSantis' VETO of 2025-2026 restoration funding (thus restoring the $$$) BUT ONLY AT THE LEGISLATURE'S VERY NEXT SESSION (whether Special [anytime the rest of 2025] or Regular [Spring of 2026]). Maybe it makes NO "CENTS" for them?
SIGN-FOR-FREE-$$$ the PETITION and email FOR-FREE-$$$ your Florida State Senator: OCKLAWAHA RIVER RESTORATION: Rally FL LEGISLATURE to OVERRIDE GOVERNOR DESANTIS' VETO!
This petition you are able to SIGN-FOR-FREE-$$$! Do it FOR-FREE-$$$ and then FOR-FREE-$$$ email your own district's Florida State Senator regarding your desire for an OVERRIDE of the Governor's VETO of Ocklawaha River Restoration funding.
NOBODY should be spending any of their own personal money on Ocklawaha River restoration!
The lands and waters involved are owned by legal property title almost entirely by the State of Florida. It is a State of Florida ("Inc.") cost to partially restore the unobstructed flow of the Ocklawaha-Silver River system to revitalize the Ocklawaha River (impacted by Kirkpatrick Dam), Silver Springs, Silver River and the lower St. Johns River.
