My intention is to end this SIGN-FOR-FREE $$$ "FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM" online petition on or about 24 December 2020. I created this petition four and a half years ago on 24 June 2016.
So far 4,014 folks WORLDWIDE have signed this petition FOR-FREE $$$! "Well, lawdy, lawdy, lawdy, Miss Clawdy..." IT SURE LOOKS LIKE ONE HUNDRED (100) TIMES FORTY (40) + 14 = 4,014 to me!
And we finally crossed an important benchmark of 2,500 FLORIDA names (2,519 on my last audit) -- that I have been honestly able to identify from the listing (hopefully adults and voters) -- on the "FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM" online petition!
NOTE that this tally of 2,519 Floridians who have signed FOR-FREE $$$ exceeds the paid membership of the environmental "not-for-profit" group that was created some 50 years ago to stop the Cross Florida Barge Canal and to advocate -- unsuccessfully so far -- to restore to free-flowing again the Ocklawaha River between Moss Bluff Lock and Dam (Ocklawaha River mile 64) and the St. Johns River (Ocklawaha River mile 00).
The "FREE THE OCKLAWAHA RIVER BY THE BREACHING OF RODMAN DAM" online petition (created 24 June 2016) is the LARGEST FREELY-AVAILABLE public registry of Ocklawaha River restoration supporters ever assembled by anyone / anywhere PERIOD!
I encourage the "not-for-profit" group that continues advocating for the restoration of a free-flowing Ocklawaha River between Moss Bluff / Silver Springs and the St. Johns River to create a new online petition so that ALL of the online public can FREELY view in a real-time and timely manner the wide support -- NAMES and NUMBERS of SUPPORTERS -- for this legitimate and noble cause to which donations, grants, and membership dues are being solicited from sincere people.
