We are calling for the release of Sherif Gaber and for his fundamental rights to be respected.

Sherif Gaber is an Egyptian content creator known for discussing religion, secularism, freedom of thought and freedom of expression.

He was arrested on November 3, 2025, and, according to human rights organizations, remained disappeared for around 56 days before appearing before the State Security Prosecution.

We are concerned about his continued detention and call on the Egyptian authorities to ensure that his rights are fully respected.

We call for:

• The release of Sherif Gaber if there is no lawful basis for his continued detention.
• A fair and transparent legal process.
• Full access to legal representation and all applicable legal protections.
• Respect for freedom of expression, thought, conscience and belief.
