It is worth reading this thoughtful piece by veteran journalist John Simpson, who is a good friend of Peter's. John questions how it cannot be in the Taliban's interest to keep him in jail, particularly as Peter has been an honest supporter of Afghanistan for more than 40 years. we want him sent him home to his family now!
