Marcelo Gomes is not a statistic — he’s a student, a son, a friend, and a cherished part of our community.

He’s lived in the United States since the age of five. He’s now 18, a senior in high school, and just weeks away from graduation. He is a Dreamer, an active church member, and a young man of faith, service, and leadership.

Marcelo is being detained by ICE. Despite growing up in this country, speaking English as his only fluent language, and having no criminal background, his future here — the only home he’s ever known — is in jeopardy.

We’re asking President Trump and immigration officials to act with compassion and release Marcelo so he can graduate and continue building a life of purpose here in the U.S.
