This situation has always been urgent - but now more than ever before.  We are calling on everyone in the UK to contact their MP's again today - Day 21 of Craig's hunger strike & Day 12 of Lindsay's.  

It will take you 5-7 minutes to top and tail your email and make these bullet points into a personalised email for your MP - please do put this in your own words and explain in your opener and closer why this is important to you.

Lindsay and Craig Foreman have been detained in Iranian prisons since 3rd January 2025 and have suffered multiple human rights abuses. There is now ⁠grave concern about the ongoing deterioration of their health.  The embassy returned to Iran last weekend but have not yet been to see them. To protest their innocence and demand their release, Craig started a hunger strike on May 9th and Lindsay joined him on May 18th. 

Tony Vaughan, MP led an adjournment debate on this topic which took place on Thursday 21st May that sets out their case. 

In short, what we need the government to do:

•⁠  ⁠End this 'wait and see' approach: pro-active action needs to be taken to push for the release of these innocent British tourists now. This is urgent. 

•⁠  ⁠Afford diplomatic protection to Lindsay and Craig: they are innocent tourists and by implication held in arbitrary detention, this is a critical next step to protect them.

•⁠  ⁠Commence proceedings at the International Court of Justice: taking all the necessary steps towards recognition under international law to drive for their release.

•⁠  ⁠Implement a strategic plan for diplomatic discussions with Iran: to focus on their immediate release.  

What I’m asking you as my MP to do is:

1.⁠ ⁠Raise the issue directly with Ministers Hamish Falconer and Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper

2.⁠ ⁠Confirm your support to the All Party Parliamentary Group on Arbitrary Detention and Hostage Affairs chaired by Alicia Kearns

3.⁠ ⁠Ask questions in the house such as these;

•⁠  ⁠What steps are being taken to secure Lindsay and Craig Foreman’s release?

•⁠  ⁠What assessment has been made of Craig and Lindsay Foreman’s welfare during their hunger strike and as conditions in Evin Prison deteriorate? 

•⁠  ⁠What steps are being taken by HMG to work with other parties to secure their release?
