**Urgent call for justice: The unlawful detention of Mohamed Ezzeldin**

Mohamed Ezzeldin, a dedicated Sudanese lawyer, has been arbitrarily detained since 10 May 2025 by forces affiliated with military intelligence in Port Sudan. His arrest was executed without a lawful warrant, and his continued detention disregards fundamental principles of justice and human rights. This petition aims to highlight the injustice faced by Mohamed Ezzeldin, whose only "crime" was to stand for justice and legal representation. We believe that his prolonged unlawful detention is a gross violation of both Sudanese and international human rights standards.

Petition to Sudanese Authorities, the UN Human Rights Council, and International Human Rights Organizations

We call for the immediate release of Sudanese lawyer Mohamed Ezzeldin, who has been arbitrarily detained since 10 May 2025 in Port Sudan by forces affiliated with military intelligence.
Mohamed Ezzeldin was arrested without a lawful arrest warrant and has remained in detention for an extended period without a fair trial or appearance before an independent judicial authority. His detention has reportedly been repeatedly renewed without due legal process.
During his detention, credible reports indicate that he has been subjected to torture and ill-treatment, while also being denied adequate medical care despite suffering from chronic health conditions. His health has seriously deteriorated, placing his life at risk.
As a lawyer, Mohamed Ezzeldin is entitled to legal protections under Sudanese law and international human rights standards. His continued detention constitutes a grave violation of fundamental rights, including the rights to liberty, fair trial, legal representation, and medical care.
We therefore demand:

تم اعتقال محمد عز الدين دون أمر اعتقال قانوني، ولا يزال محتجزاً لفترة طويلة دون محاكمة عادلة أو مثول أمام سلطة قضائية مستقلة. وتشير التقارير إلى أن احتجازه قد تم تجديده مراراً وتكراراً دون اتباع الإجراءات القانونية الواجبة

وتشير تقارير موثوقة إلى أنه تعرض، خلال فترة احتجازه، للتعذيب وسوء المعاملة، كما حُرم من الرعاية الطبية المناسبة على الرغم من معاناته من أمراض مزمنة. وقد تدهورت حالته الصحية بشكل خطير، مما يعرض حياته للخطر

بصفته محامياً، يحق لمحمد عز الدين التمتع بالحماية القانونية بموجب القانون السوداني والمعايير الدولية لحقوق الإنسان. ويشكل استمرار احتجازه انتهاكاً جسيماً للحقوق الأساسية، بما في ذلك الحق في الحرية والمحاكمة العادلة والتمثيل القانوني والرعاية الطبية

Nous demandons la libération immédiate de l'avocat soudanais Mohamed Ezzeldin, détenu arbitrairement depuis le 10 mai 2025 à Port-Soudan par des forces affiliées aux services de renseignement militaire.
Mohamed Ezzeldin a été arrêté sans mandat d’arrêt légal et est maintenu en détention depuis une longue période sans avoir bénéficié d’un procès équitable ni avoir comparu devant une autorité judiciaire indépendante. Sa détention aurait été renouvelée à plusieurs reprises sans procédure légale régulière.
Selon des informations crédibles, il aurait été soumis à des actes de torture et de mauvais traitements pendant sa détention, tout en se voyant refuser des soins médicaux adéquats alors qu’il souffre de problèmes de santé chroniques. Son état de santé s’est gravement détérioré, mettant sa vie en danger.
En tant qu’avocat, Mohamed Ezzeldin a droit à des protections juridiques en vertu de la loi soudanaise et des normes internationales en matière de droits de l’homme. Sa détention prolongée constitue une grave violation des droits fondamentaux, notamment les droits à la liberté, à un procès équitable, à une représentation juridique et à des soins médicaux.
Nous exigeons donc :

Exigimos la liberación inmediata del abogado sudanés Mohamed Ezzeldin, quien se encuentra detenido arbitrariamente desde el 10 de mayo de 2025 en Puerto Sudán por fuerzas vinculadas a la inteligencia militar.
Mohamed Ezzeldin fue detenido sin una orden de detención legal y ha permanecido detenido durante un largo periodo sin un juicio justo ni comparecencia ante una autoridad judicial independiente. Según los informes, su detención se ha renovado repetidamente sin el debido proceso legal.

Mohamed Ezzeldin è stato arrestato senza un mandato di arresto legittimo ed è rimasto in detenzione per un lungo periodo senza un processo equo né la comparizione davanti a un'autorità giudiziaria indipendente. Secondo quanto riferito, la sua detenzione è stata ripetutamente prorogata senza un regolare procedimento legale.
Durante la sua detenzione, fonti attendibili indicano che è stato sottoposto a tortura e maltrattamenti, mentre gli è stata negata un'adeguata assistenza medica nonostante soffrisse di patologie croniche. Le sue condizioni di salute sono gravemente peggiorate, mettendo a rischio la sua vita.
