Hi All,
I hope you are all well. I wish to pay my respects to the Quandamooka People, who are the First Nations People’s land in Australia on which this petitioned campaign has been done. Without the platform that the Australian way of life, which is founded on the First Nations people’s land this absolutely would never have been possible. Please also recall, it was the First people in Australia that stood fast with Julian Assange from the very start and of course remembering that Julian Assange was granted an Aboriginal Australian Passport whilst in the Ecuadorian Embassy.
All of us won this together. It was our action together and globally that stopped the extradition precedent being established in international law and we actually did free Julian Assange. Those were the two objectives of this petition and we succeeded on both objectives. However, I do feel sad for Julian Assange that he was subjected to cruel and degrading treatment amounting to a United Nations Spec. Rap. confirmed case of psychological torture.
I want to thank all of you. This is your victory. Everyone in this campaign played their part in their own area of strength. We did this together. The strength in this petition was your involvement. The petition would have been nothing without your signature, resharing, letter to politicians and leaders, street vigils, light projection on buildings, songs, poems, art, discussions over a coffee, etc. We each made it happen. In our own way, it was you that freed Julian Assange. You did it. I thankyou Signatories and everyone else that didn’t sign and just did it their way.
I received an email from Gabriel Shipton as petitioner and I wanted to share it with you because your name is included in the petition, because you are the petition. (see image) scripted of which I have pasted at foot of this update
I wish to thank the people that work at Change.org on whose platform I conducted this petition. I did my research and in my opinion Change.org provided me with the best smarts for a campaign director to run a petitioned campaign on a national or global scale. Nothing is perfect, but Change.org offers a platform that can take you to ultimate victory as has happened in this momentous victory.
Thankyou to all the politicians from across the political spectrum and around the world that supported freedom for Julian Assange. Thankyou to all members of the Bring Assange Parliamentary Groups in Australia and around the world. I recall John Shipton said that every Sth. American country’s government had a free Assange parliamentary group and most Western Europe countries governments as well, all modelled on the Australian Free Assange Parliamentary Group. As an example, I believe Australia has about 70 members now , in Greece there are about 100 and in Chile is about 50 from recollection. Unbelievable and really great how one leads to another. All via a democratic and peaceful pathway.
Thankyou to Senator Peter Whish Wilson Tasmanian Greens for Tabling this petition the day/s before and to justify the inauguration of the Bring Assange Home Parliamentary Group in ~2019.
Thankyou to Andrew Wilikie MP (MP Tasmania) for Tabling this petition in the House of Representatives of the Australian Parliament, making this petition the largest in History to be tabled in both houses of the Australian Parliament.
Thankyou to Chief Prosecutor International Criminal Court Mr Karim Ahmad Khan for performing a preliminary investigation in response to this petition. Ref. ICC.
Thankyou to the Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese (ALP) for having the courage to sign this petition on his first day in office on 23rd May, 2022 and for not removing his name off the Signatory database up to the present. Like him or not, he is Fairdinkum and followed to do what he signed onto do. I have the proof and I have never voted for him in the past. Just being honest here.
Thankyou to all the great supporters around the world who have passed away since this long campaign was initiated. People like my great mate Vic Mail who was Signatory 22 of 798,000+ and the others who have passed away before we won. Their names will remain immortalised in the Australian parliament House Hansard. May they now Rest in Peace & I thank their spirits past and present which will forever be part of this win.
In a Democracy> A Petition is the "ONLY" way. Not one of the ways, but the ONLY way an individual Citizen can take their grievances to the Australian Parliament and it is the same most other Democracies round the world. That is why the petition was done. Read it for yourself as I have pasted the proof herein from the Australian Parliament House web. Site “A petition is basically a request for action. The right to petition Federal Parliament has been one of the rights of citizens since federation, and it is the only way an individual can directly place grievances before the Parliament.” https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Petitions
What I say is :> In a democracy if there is only 1 way “an individual can directly place grievances before the Parliament” and that individual’s grievances are to hold to the law in the face of Torture in 2024 then the petition cannot fail.
How obvious this reads is where we are at now.
What’s done is done and nothing can undo what has been done.
Everyone is born with a brain; everyone is born with a heart. But it is the courage in good people like you, exercised peacefully that always saves lives and loved ones. History Proves It.
It was You that freed Julian Assange. We just followed the Yellow Brick Road of this petitioned campaign. Lol
Cheers & Enjoy Life
Phillip

Subject: Thank you.
Hi Phillip,
Thank you. Tonight, Stella and my dad met Julian on the tarmac as he arrived back in Australia. This was an incredible moment that felt surreal and overwhelming. I will never forget it. Yet, amongst this all, I wanted to pause and write to you because it wouldn’t have happened without your help.
Time and again, political leaders would tell me they were amazed by the persistence, courage, and boldness of our movement's members–you. This incredible victory is a direct result of your effort for more than a decade - and I cannot thank you enough.
It has been a monumental few days for me and our family. Over the next few weeks, we will finally take some time to reconnect with my brother, a husband, a son and our friend.
But tonight, as he has his first full night in Australia, I wanted to know he was thinking of you and everything you’ve done. Thank you again.
Gabriel Shipton,
Julian's Brother"
