On 11/20/23, Joe Exotic's attorney, John Phillips, filed a second motion to request a new trial for Joe based on new evidence. The first motion was filed on 4/1/2022 and was left unanswered; therefore, a second motion was filed. Both motions were denied by Judge Palk on 11/21/23, before all the evidence recordings (exhibits) were even delivered to the court via FedEx.  On 11/22/23, Judge Palk released his official court order denying a new trial. This action, although not what we were hoping for, is still positive because it compelled the judge to rule on the motions and opened up the opportunity for an appeal with new judges in Denver at the appellate court.
