Liz Truss met the Egyptian Foreign Minister this week, but there is no indication that she raised my husband and the unjust restrictions on his freedom. I cannot believe it, and I’m incredibly disappointed.

For nearly two years we have been waiting for an opportunity like this. Since his release from prison the Egyptian authorities have banned him from traveling so we can’t be together. 

It is a very simple ask - all we want is for Karim to be allowed to travel freely so we can live together here in the UK. The Foreign Office should not just sit back quietly while the lives of British nationals and their families are being ruined by their own strategic partners.
