The picture above is of Karim and I together on his birthday 4 years ago. Today he turns 37 - his first birthday since we got married. Instead of celebrating it with me, he's in solitary confinement in prison.
It's been really difficult thinking of how he must be feeling spending his birthday behind bars - I've not been able to speak to him since his arrest. But it's given me hope seeing how many people have been sending support and birthday wishes to Karim - from his friends and colleagues around the world to famous faces like Stephen Fry.
