Firstly I want to say a massive thank you to the 80,000 of you who have signed this petition in just a few days. Knowing that I have so many people behind me is helping me get through this, and I hope it will get Karim & the other EIPR staff free.
Just a few hours ago I did an emotional interview that went out on Channel 4 News at 7pm.
It feels like the world is starting to take notice. Numerous US senators have denounced the arrests, EU and UN spokespeople have expressed their concern, and so has the UK Foreign Office and the Labour Party. The BBC, The Financial Times, The New York Times and various other media outlets have written about the case, and we're hoping for even more coverage and MP support in the coming days.
What we need now is a direct response from Boris Johnson and other leaders in Europe, especially those whose diplomats met with EIPR in the meeting that led to the arrests.
I think the petition is really helping us get traction. Please share the petition with your networks in all your social channels, and keep following this campaign as I will send more updates soon.
