The Freeman Home Depot case will be in court (again) on Monday, January 29th, 2026.

This will be an immunity hearing, in which Judge Carlton H. Jones III will be deciding whether Nelson had probable cause to commit a traffic stop, and whether Freeman had a right to flee and to resist an unlawful arrest.

The hearing has been twice delayed (back in September and October 2025) but we expect that this time will be the big one! There will be testimony from witnesses and a showing of evidence, just like a full trial, and it's our opportunity to hopefully see all charges dismissed!

If you're in the area, please show up to the Stephens County Courthouse at 9:00 AM for the hearing.

We want to have 1,000 signatures on the petition to Free Elder Freeman before the day comes. Right now, we need only 152 more signatures! If everyone who has already signed gets just one signature, we'll more than surpass our goal!
