As you may know I took the sad decision to put this Campaign on hold last year when Covid hit. Covid happened at just the wrong time for the campaign as, together with your support, we had gained incredible momentum and press exposure but getting to grips with Covid took priority. Now however my priority is to go full steam ahead and start pressing the Secretary of State/Health Department for significant changes.
During lockdown my MP, Kate Green, who is now in the Shadow Cabinet, received a less than satisfactory letter from Jo Churchill, months after our meeting, that was really more placatory than helpful. It didn’t advise of any useful changes. In short it was a “nice meeting you” letter.
This response is NOT good enough. To recap, Kate and I presented a document at our meeting outlining a 5 point plan, and some of the points were at no cost and easy to implement. Nothing has been done which is incredibly disappointing and frustrating.
So, despite having over 50 MPs pledging support (and its well over 50 now) I still need to put pressure on Matt Hancock, Jo Churchill and of course Boris Johnson to make changes.
