As of October 22, 2024, Corey was granted an oral argument by the NC Court of Appeals, which means his attorney will go before a panel of 3 judges and argue against the state of NC on the issues and discrepancies in his case, which will hopefully result in the charges being dismissed and Corey being released. Being given the opportunity to verbally state the facts and explain how the state violated Corey's rights to receive a fair trial is rare for the court of appeals to do, all cases are not heard.
