To everyone who has signed, shared, and stood with our family,
Thank you.
This journey has not been easy. There are moments when the weight of the system feels overwhelming, when the silence from institutions is heavy, and when the years themselves seem to stretch endlessly.
As Byron’s mother, I have lived through seasons of deep loss — loss of time, loss of moments we can never recover, and the painful reality of watching your child live under the authority of a system that has the power to decide his future.
But even in the midst of all of this, I am reminded of a scripture that has been speaking to my spirit:
“Strengthen what remains.” — Revelation 3:2
That is exactly what we are doing.
We are strengthening what remains of justice.
We are strengthening what remains of hope.
We are strengthening what remains of truth.
Because what remains still matters.
The love between a mother and her son remains.
The belief that justice should be fair remains.
The voices of people who refuse to be silent remain.
Every signature on this petition strengthens what remains.
Every share reminds the world that Byron’s life is not forgotten.
And every voice raised in support pushes back against a system that too often treats human beings as numbers instead of lives with purpose and dignity.
This fight is not just about one family.
It is about the larger question of justice, accountability, and mercy in a system that too often fails the very people it claims to serve.
Your support means more than you may realize.
So today I simply ask:
Please continue to share Byron’s story.
Please continue to stand with us.
Please continue strengthening what remains.
With gratitude and determination,
Rev. Jami Greene
