I'm thinking about Byron's road to redemption and personally watching how the Creator carried him from "Trouble" to "Chief Teacher" all while behind the walls.

The testimonies and stories that I receive from men whose lives he touched are overwhelming. Some who have been released, received his permission to call me and I am brought to tears as I hear things like, "your son saved my life"; I didn't care about myself or anyone else until he became my mentor and teacher" and more.

There is one such man who reached out to me several months ago after his release from prison, and he literally texts me every morning, "Good morning, Mom. I'm on my way to work. I love you, have a great day."

I remember when people would approach me and ask, "Are you Trouble's mom?" No, I don't have any sons named "Trouble." I have ALWAYS refused to identify my son by that name; I don't care what the street called him.

Society, including family members and the church, are so easy to write people off. But I am truly grateful to know that God heals, transforms and redeems.

THIS is the story that Byron will share when he gets home to us.

A Mother who KNOWS there is power in prayer!

The testimonies I receive are overwhelming. Men whose lives he has touched—men who were broken, lost, and forgotten—continue to reach out to me with their stories. Some are still incarcerated, some are free, but their voices echo with the same gratitude: “Your son saved my life. I didn’t care about myself or anyone else until he became my mentor and teacher.” One brother, after his release, asked Byron’s permission to call me “Mom.” He texts me every morning, faithfully, just to say: “Good morning, Mom. I’m on my way to work. I love you, have a great day.” That’s the kind of fruit my son’s life is bearing behind the walls.

And when he comes home, this will be the story he shares: not one of failure, but one of faith; not one of defeat, but one of divine destiny. A son redeemed, a teacher raised up, and a life that continues to inspire others.

I am a mother who knows the power of prayer, and I will keep praying until the day Byron walks free—because God has already shown me the man he has become.
