I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to give you a quick update on our campaign advocating for more accessible and safer public transportation for women in Odisha.

Recently, I visited the Odisha Women's Commission and the Odisha State Road and Transport Commission. While I couldn't meet with the authorities, I did have productive discussions with government officials and consultants during my visit.

To ensure our cause is heard and understood, I’ve been actively reaching out to the Offices of Authorities through emails and calls, seeking to schedule a meeting where I can share in-depth about the pressing need for free bus tickets for women in Odisha. Fingers crossed that it happens soon!

While the recent introduction of the LAccMI public transport system by the Odisha government is a positive step toward enhancing bus facilities to gram panchayats, there is still much more that needs to be done to make transportation more accessible and safer for women, to enhance their mobility and access to public spaces.
