Our petition demanding the release of Boris Kagarlitsky and all other anti-war political prisoners in the Russian Federation is winning increasing support from left and progressive members of national and regional parliaments.
It is also beginning to win support in the trade union movement. A notable signatory is that of Jan Simpson (pictured), the National President of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW).
Jan Simpson is the first black woman to lead a national union in Canada.
Damien Cahill, the general secretary of Australia's National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU), and Zeta Henderson, president of the Geelong Trades Hall Council (GTHC) in the Australian state of Victoria, are two more elected trade union official to have recently signed on.
However, there's still a long way to go in building support for the petition in the organised labour movement--please bring it to the attention of your union!
