Through mergers and acquisitions, Bimbo Bakeries USA is the largest US bakery company and bakes most of the commercially available bread in the United States. It is the American corporate arm of the Mexican multinational bakery product manufacturing company Grupo Bimbo. Most of the brands of bread that they bake currently have kosher supervision. 

It has been widely reported that beginning in 2019, Bimbo will discontinue baking bread in kosher supervised locations and drop kosher certification on most of the bread that they produce. This will leave hundreds of thousands of US kosher observing consumers and millions more who buy kosher products without access to any commercially available bread.
