Donkeys are being used as tourist chauffeurs to perform back breaking walks up and down the vast hills of various parts of Greece, pushing through sweltering temperatures of up to 40°c. They are used tirelessly everyday with little rest bite or adequate shade to cool down. Although few people find this a usual way of getting around we need to remember we are in the 21st century and there are other means of transport on hand. Although it may be a tradition that has been going on for many years the welfare of donkeys should come first. So let's put this cruel practice to bed and give these donkeys the rest they so rightly deserve!
