Let Furkids shelter dogs go outside

Let Furkids shelter dogs go outside
The Issue
Furkids Dogs Need Your Voice Now - Furkids Dog Shelter Zoning Hearing!
Furkids operates Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter in Forsyth County, Georgia, where our homeless dogs live until we find them loving adoptive homes. We are asking the County to remove restrictions and help Furkids continue to provide basic health and adoption services for homeless dogs at Sadie’s Place. Without these services, these dogs will die painful, agonizing deaths from starvation, infection, disease or injury.
Please do three things:
1. Sign and share our petition - this is available to everyone.
2. If you are in Georgia, attend the Forsyth County Commission hearing to help Furkids on Thursday, MARCH 2 at 5 p.m. Location: Commissioner’s Meeting Room, 110 E. Main Street, Suite 220, Cumming, GA 30040. We need faces and voices to help our dogs!
3. Send a polite, heartfelt email to the commissioners at these addresses:
District 1: R J (Pete) Amos, rjamos@forsythco.com
District 2: Rick Swope, rhswope@forsythco.com
District 3: Todd Levent, tlevent@forsythco.com
District 4: Cindy Jones Mills, cjmills@forsythco.com
District 5: Laura Semanson, losemanson@forsythco.com
Furkids is asking for three main things:
· Furkids dogs need to go outside during the day. We ask for seven dogs at a time, attended by a human, to be able to be outside in our fenced areas between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
· Every business needs a sign outside. We want to be able to have a sign outside our building showing that we are a no-kill dog rescue and shelter facility.
· We want to be able to shelter 90 Furkids dogs in our building, which is equipped to effectively house that many animals.
Add a personal note if you have one. Here’s what one of our volunteers said.
“I have seen Furkids rescue such broken and pathetic creatures that it hurts me to even think about some of them. These homeless dogs need tender and consistent care, strong leadership and good human companions. We are cleaning up the messes that other humans made, and these dogs would never knowingly choose to be homeless, neglected, sick or abused. Rotten people chose it for them. Furkids is leading these animals to light and life, and we need our dog shelter to live up to its shelter name.”
Thank you for being the voice of homeless animals that need us!
