I have made the decision to remove this petition.
When I started the petition, I was so mad! I was mad that people like Green get away with atrocious acts of power on a daily basis but unfortunately I am one person and I'm definitely not powerful enough to fight them right now. I felt that if I created a petition, it would get people who are in higher positions of power than me talking, and hopefully gear the media up to blast headline after headline criticising Green's actions - it did somewhat but not to the extent that I wanted and I suppose in a way I didn't push it enough. I unfortunately had some bad news fly in through my window in the same week I posted this position and in reality I didn't have the energy to push the petition.
The liquidators have been brought in to 'bring down the curtain on Philip Green’s fashion empire' - https://www.ft.com/content/07872c60-2e98-4178-994c-1223a6cda0e8 and from reading the article in the FT, 'The recoveries will improve the position of the pension schemes sufficiently to avoid having to be bailed out by the Pension Protection Fund, according to independent pensions expert John Ralfe.'.
Really, this is all I wanted to happen, I just wanted some justice for the 'little guys', who get bulldozed over time and time again by these people in positions of power. I mean really it would be great if the banks weren't paid back first and the pension schemes were but I guess Mazars have different priorities...
If I'm being honest, it feels like right now there's just so many hideous acts going on in this small world we live in. I suppose if one wants to fight the injustices in the world, maybe I've learnt you have to pick and choose your battles, or maybe just fight harder that the pr*cks in the dress circle, watching me from the stalls.
