Change the old law, save the sheep!

There is a large ignored issue within the area of the Forest of Dean and its surroundings. Sheep fall as the main victims to this issue as they are frequently injured and painfully killed day to day. There is an old tradition in this area which allows locals to purchase sheep without owning land. This has led to so many sheep being left out in the roads to wonder around and search for food. The problem is without the boundary of a nice fenced off piece of land, these animals are sat in the roads and streets of Gloucestershire. The evidence is clear as sheep owned and kept on private land look healthy, clean and woolly compared to the injured, skinny, dirty sheep left to walk where they please, mainly being roads. Not only does this cause damage to the animals, leaving sheep and lambs limping along the side of the road, desperate to survive, if they haven't already died. It also causes accidents as drivers try to avoid them pushing them to swerve into trees or off the roads or instead they collide leading to damage to themselves and their cars as well as the innocent animals. This law seems ridiculous and is an old fashioned tradition that needs changing with all the speeding cars we have these days on these winding roads. To purchase sheep you should have private land for them to live safely. It's safer for everyone travelling and their families as well as the sheep and theirs. Hopefully with enough support, together we can make this change.
