PLEASE HELP SAVE AN ICONIC BEACH FROM INAPPROPRIATE OVERDEVELOPMENT

You can help prevent the commercialisation of the foreshore and over development on this iconic Melbourne beach by signing the petition.
The Bayside Council intends to build an inappropriately huge commercial development (aerial impression taken from Let's Talk Bayside newsletter), combined with a new life saving club on the Dendy Beach, next to the iconic Bathing Boxes.
The local community supports the life saving club being rebuilt. We believe the building could be half the proposed size by only building the life saving club and not the commercial spaces that Council has added, including a restaurant and function space which compromise the natural beach setting.

Thank you for showing your care and support of public open spaces.
We, the undersigned, respectfully petition the Bayside City Council not to build the dominating and overdeveloped Pavilion. We petition Council to only rebuild the Life Saving Club with a smaller building that respects the natural beach setting. We petition the Council not to commercialize the public space of the foreshore.
