Dear Fordham Community,
Thank you for supporting the Class of 2021 with nearly 900 petition signatures so far. It looks like our petition was timed just right. In an email communication this week, Father McShane has announced that Fordham University is planning to allow two guests per student during the in-person commencement ceremonies. Other universities petitioned the state government to allow physical ceremonies with guests weeks ago. We are encouraged by the latest state guidelines and by Fordham updating its stance on the matter, although graduate students are still not being offered an in-person ceremony.
More details about Fordham’s updated graduation rules and regulations are anticipated in the coming weeks, and we will update you as we receive that information. The Fordham community’s support for in-person ceremonies with guests is clearly paying off, and we believe that this petition is playing a role in the progress. Thank you again for signing, and please continue to share this petition with the link below!
