To everyone who has signed this, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
It took a lot of attempts to obtain this information on my own, before I got here.
Things have gone even further today in an effort to be heard.
I hope everyone who signed, shared and is considering signing, understands that we aren't asking for much.
We want our County to be informative and take the necessary care in protecting the kids of Walpole North and the residents of this area. The site is operational now, it's happened, regardless of the locals to the area vocalizing their concerns. All the are being asked to do is what they have been appointed to do.
Its been confirmed that there has not been contact regarding any evacuation plans or communication of what the school is to do in the event of the lithium battery storage catching fire.
Plenty of parents weren't even aware of what was built there, they hadn't been informed because they don't reside on this Concession, even though their children attend school down the road from this potentially dangerous storage facility..
It should not be up to the schools faculty to decide what to do with kids as young as 4yrs old, in the event something this catastrophic happens.
The reality is that a fire in this facility could affect the air quality for more than just Haldimand county. Health concerns have been reported for as far as 40kms from the sites that have. That means Norfolk, Six Nations and Brant county.
Stay informed. Do your own research.
These sites are popping up all over, and being approved before we are informed.
If we don't take a stand for our families safety, no one else will.
Thank you again.
