The aquarium, Park Astérix, in France, has moved 5 of its dolphins to Spain, distributing them between the “Oceanogràfic de València” and “Mundomar de Benidorm”, two horrible dolphin parks where dolphins continue performing shows for our enjoyment, under false excuses like education or science.

Not only does it sadden me deeply, but also, this news hasn’t been widely published, and almost everything that has been published, has only appeared in foreign press, like “Dolphinaria-Free Europe” (http://dfe.ngo/parc-asterix-transfer-seven-dolphins-to-other-facilities-in-europe/

Neither the 58.117 signatures nor my meeting with Mr. Sergio A. García Torres, General Director for Animal Rights, has been useful. This country continues to be the largest jail for dolphins obviously for economic reasons, because otherwise, Spain would do like other countries have done, and create a Law to Prohibit Dolphin Parks. France has already done it, what are we waiting for?

In addition, one of the dolphins died: Femke, a female. They had been alerted by vets that she was suffering from Cushing Syndrome, a hormonal alteration due to stress, and as a result they had to euthanize her.

To the Spanish Government, please, listen to us, let’s finish with this horrendous trade. I haven’t got any more words, instead of moving the dolphins to a marine sanctuary for their rehab, Spain continues increasing these prisons with new dolphins. It’s embarrassing.
