Toronto, Hamilton, and Whitby are all holding free coyote education meetings

Coyotes are a natural part of urban wildlife communities across southern Ontario.
Coyote Watch Canada is taking part in three different events that offer opportunities to learn more about these fascinating wild neighbours — from a hands-on family program in Hamilton to public education sessions in Whitby and Toronto.

Ever wondered what life looks like through a coyote’s eyes?
Join Coyote Watch Canada and The Children’s Garden Project for a special Bio Spotlight Session exploring coyotes and the many faces of canids.
This family-friendly event will include hands-on activities and outdoor learning, with opportunities to:
Learn more about coyotes and other local wildlife
Discover how wildlife uses the Escarpment
Listen to real coyote calls
Make your own coyote mask
Explore the importance of biodiversity and the role coyotes play in healthy ecosystems

Coyote Public Education Session — Whitby
Join Coyote Watch Canada and the Town of Whitby for a public information session about coyotes, their behaviour and what to do if you encounter one.
Whether you’ve spotted a coyote in your neighbourhood or simply want to learn more about urban wildlife, this session will provide practical tips to help keep people, pets and wildlife safe.

Coyote Public Education Session — Toronto
Toronto Animal Services and Coyote Watch Canada are partnering to provide an on-site community information session focused on coexisting with coyotes.
Learn practical tips for preventing conflicts, better understand coyote behaviour and watch a live demonstration of humane coyote aversion techniques designed to reinforce a natural avoidance of humans.
When used correctly and appropriately, aversion techniques help keep strong, healthy boundaries that can protect people, pets and wildlife.
