Dear petitioners, thank you for your support! The petition gathered more than 149.000 signatures, just another small effort needed to reach 150.000 signatures before submitting the petition to the Presidents of EU institutions on 11 October. In addition to the case of former President Barroso, former EU Commissioner Neelie Kroes is now suspected in the "Bahamas papers" scandal.
The petition initiated numerous reactions and strong support from colleagues of the European institutions, retired EU officials, Members of the European Parliament and tens of thousands of citizens from all over Europe. The European Ombudsman also outlined in an open letter the damage caused by Mr Barroso's decision to the trust of European citizens.
We are deeply shocked and we call on European authorities to react swiftly in order to strengthen ethics at the highest European level. Europe calls for exemplary Commissioners sent by Member States!
Don't hesitate to forward once again the petition to your friends and colleagues. The petition is now available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Slovak and Portuguese:
