To everyone who has signed, shared, commented, or taken a moment to read Brianne’s story—thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

When our family began sharing Brianne’s story, we weren’t just asking for signatures. We were asking people to listen, to care, and to recognize that what happened to our family raises questions that no patient or loved one should have to face alone.

Brianne was more than a diagnosis. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a Detroit police officer who dedicated nine years of her life to protecting others.

She deserved to be heard, informed, and treated with dignity throughout her medical care.

After losing Brianne at just 32 years old, our family began reviewing her medical records. What we discovered raised serious questions about medical transparency, communication, informed consent, and treatment decisions.

We are still seeking answers.

But along the way, something else has become clear: There are patients and families everywhere who deserve better communication, stronger safeguards, and a healthcare system that takes their concerns seriously.

That’s why our mission has grown beyond seeking answers for Brianne.

We have begun creating patient safety and advocacy resources to help others recognize warning signs, understand their rights, ask difficult questions, and know what to do when something doesn’t feel right.

Because no family should have to discover critical information in a medical record after losing someone they love.

Every signature represents someone who believes patients deserve honesty, meaningful informed consent, transparency, and accountability.

We cannot bring Brianne back. There will always be an empty space where she belongs.

But we can continue speaking her name. We can continue asking questions. And we can work toward a future where patients and families are better informed and better protected.
